  • ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp ground allspice
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ⅛ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, panko bread crumbs, onion, egg, and seasonings (allspice, nutmeg, garlic powder, salt, pepper). Mix until just combined.
  2. Form into 12 large or 20 small meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides; remove and keep warm.
  4. In the same skillet, melt remaining butter; whisk in flour until golden. Gradually add beef broth and cream while stirring until thickened. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard.
  5. Return meatballs to skillet; simmer briefly in gravy before serving.
