  • 2.20 pounds chicken on bones without skin
  • 3/4 cup yogurt
  • 2 cups onion, roughly chopped
  • 1.5 cups tomato, roughly chopped
  • 23 tbsp homemade Madras curry powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp Tandoori Masala
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Whole Cumin Seeds
  • 2 dry red chili
  • 10 fresh curry leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in yogurt, ginger garlic paste, Tandoori Masala, and salt for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat; add whole cumin seeds and dry red chilies.
  3. Sauté chopped onions until golden brown; add tomatoes and tomato paste along with spices until soft.
  4. Incorporate marinated chicken into the pot; cover and cook on low heat for about 20 minutes until tender.
  5. Stir in homemade Madras curry powder before serving.
