  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (peeled and minced)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 3 green onions (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak into thin strips and coat with cornstarch in a Ziploc bag.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned, then set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, rice vinegar, honey, and cornstarch until smooth.
  4. Pour sauce into the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Return beef to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
