  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green gel food coloring
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Red heart-shaped sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, softened butter, and eggs using a mixer until smooth.
  3. Mix in peppermint and vanilla extracts along with green food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and cornstarch.
  5. Using a cookie scoop, form balls of dough and roll in the sugar mixture before placing them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are set; immediately add heart-shaped sprinkles on top after removing from the oven.
  7. Cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
