  • 3 carrots
  • 1/2 Chinese cabbage
  • 150g brown mushrooms
  • 3 spring onions
  • 40 rice paper sheets
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Chili, salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare vegetables: Peel and julienne the carrots; slice mushrooms; remove the stem from the cabbage and thinly slice leaves; chop spring onions.
  2. Cook filling: Heat 2 tablespoons sesame oil in a pan, sauté carrots for 3 minutes, add other veggies, cover, and cook for another 5-10 minutes until tender. Season with salt, pepper, and chili.
  3. Assemble: Soak one rice paper sheet in cold water for 30-40 seconds. Place 1-2 tablespoons of filling in the center, fold edges over to create a pocket.
  4. Fry: Heat remaining sesame oil in a pan and fry each pocket until golden and crispy.
  5. Serve with soy sauce mixed with sesame seeds.
