  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped green onions
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons liquid honey
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch (or flour)
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, green onions, egg, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 15 minutes until cooked through and browned.
  5. While meatballs bake, prepare the sauce by combining rice vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, cornstarch (or flour), and water in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened.
  6. Coat the baked meatballs in the sauce before serving.
