  • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseeds
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegan butter
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 500 ml vegetable broth
  • 60 g breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fennel seeds
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg flower
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon agave syrup
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 teaspoons paprika powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegan crème fraîche
  • 10 g parsley

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, blend smoked tofu, ground flaxseeds, minced garlic, spices, soy sauce, agave syrup, and olive oil until smooth. Stir in breadcrumbs and seitan fix for texture.
  2. Form the mixture into small balls (about golf ball size) and set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook the tofu balls until golden brown on all sides.
  4. In another pan, melt vegan butter and sauté onion, garlic, and diced red pepper until soft. Add tomato paste, paprika powder, cayenne pepper, and vegetable broth; simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in vegan crème fraîche, then add the cooked tofu balls to the sauce and let simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.
